First, no matter what, never appear needy, ever. It's a big turn off to everyone, especially men. No one is comfortable with needy. There are two things women require to date effectively, which means attract a wonderful man. Confidence and Feminine Grace. Needy embodies neither of those qualities.

Men like a woman who is confident but they also like to do the pursuing. They see that as their manly duty. Plus, when you do the pursuing, it messes up the lovely man/woman dance of energy. Once that happens, it's hard to switch it back and most men will eventually leave because they don't feel like the man. They can't explain it but they'll feel a sense of dissatisfaction.

If he hasn't phoned you after a period of time, that means he's either busy, not that interested, or dating several women at once. No matter why he hasn't phoned, you need to step back and realize that going on two or three dates doesn't mean you're in a relationship. He only owes you politeness. Unfortunately, many men are afraid to deal with your reaction if they tell you they don't want to go out with you again. So they simply quit calling. Your only requirement is to be gracious and self-respecting.
